Where The Streets Have No Name Intro

Visit the Video pages:
Streets with no name
Shadows Fall

Shadows Fall

down cold and lonely streets
where smoking chimneys once did reek
warm fires inside no more
just locks and chains upon the door

in the broken street light’s gloom
where lovers once did spoon
and muggers now do roam
I let the moonlight take me home

through the concrete walls of the underpass
amongst the needles and the broken glass
where forgotten people hide from sight
I make my way tonight

and the shadows on my wall
grow longer as they fall
as night-time steals the day
and summer roses fade away

Childhood streets revisited following a visit to my dying mum
